Carlos Gabriel Ruiz

Carlos Gabriel Ruiz is a cartoonist, writer, illustrator, and creative director. He is the creator of PRETENTIOUS RECORD STORE GUY, DEVELOPMENT HELL, THE IDEAL, ROANOKE, GOOD KINGS BING & BOWIE SWING and the anthology series SHORTS + LOSSES. Currently he is working on the miniseries WEATHERMEN and THE BARON AGE with collaborators Brandon Daniels and Bryan Ward. His last book was the graphic novel BLOOD ON THE TRACKS with Brian Atkins and Brandon Daniels.

In 2008, he created the imprint Brain Cloud Comics to publish his work and that of his friends. He also started a sketch meet-up group which would later become the collective Ink and Drink Comics. In 2010, the group published their first anthology, and have been putting out genre anthologies every six months without fail. So far, they have published 20 books and 8 mini-comics.

Carlos graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.F.A. in painting and drawing. He tweets infrequently @los_gabriel and blogs at carlosgabrielruiz.tumblr.com. His work can be found online at carlosgabrielruiz.com and at braincloudcomics.com. He lives with his wife, son, and two dogs in St. Louis, MO.
